The Government of Pakistan is now making efforts to ensure road safety and passengers’ comfort.
Important data was presented by Secretary RTA Attock, Sardar Zaheer Ahmed Khan, during the meeting. It was found that 7,256 commercial vehicles were fined a total of Rs. 6,093,250 between July 2023 and February 2024.
Furthermore, 98 vehicles’ license plates and fitness certifications were revoked, while 8,581 people were penalized for breaking traffic laws.
In his report on road safety, District Emergency Officer Ali Hussain stated that 3,028 accidents occurred in the district the year before, resulting in 3,563 injuries and 49 fatalities.
Speaking to the assembly, DC Attock, Rao Atif Raza, highlighted upcoming plans for designated parking while announcing continued efforts in the Chung Chi rickshaw registration process.
In addition, a plan to stop climate pollution and fight smog caused by car smoke is being put into action. DC Attock directed the RTA and traffic officials to impose severe penalties on commercial vehicle overcharging.
These all efforts are being made by the government just for the safety of passengers and to reduce accidents.
