The literacy rate in Pakistan especially Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is quite alarming. They have a high ratio of children outside the school. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is serious about this issue for which it is taking revolutionary steps to enroll children in school to get an education.
According to the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, specially disabled children will also be given equal opportunities for education and they will also be financially supported to continue their education.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s public universities will provide free education to the province’s visually challenged students. Governor KPK Ghulam Ali made the announcement during a ceremony commemorating White Cane Safety Day.
The decision is intended to empower and improve the province’s visually challenged students, who are unable to continue their education owing to financial restrictions.

Public colleges will also provide financial help to these students.
Thus, the KP government has also decided that at least one visually impaired individual will be hired in every educational institution so that these special people can also get employment opportunities.
Furthermore, educational institutions throughout the province have been instructed to hire at least one visually impaired person in each region.
Ghulam Ali has also recommended creating schools for the blind in the suburbs. The provincial government, however, will make the final decision.
The advantage of creating separate educational institutions for the blind will be that they will not feel inferior and will be able to study in a good environment.
During the event, he also discussed the difficulties that such people experience as a result of numerous concerns.
