According to Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan, Gilgit-Baltistan’s health and education systems are being improved by the administration.
To address Gilgit-Baltistan’s general nurse shortage, the Chief Minister announced during the chairing of a meeting of department heads in Skardu that a nursing college will soon be constructed.
Additionally, he stated that a unique plan is being developed to address the teacher shortage in schools and that two high schools in Skardu will shortly receive upper-secondary status.

A few days prior, Skardu’s Shagharthang Power Project received its foundation stone from Gilgit-Baltistan’s Chief Minister, Gilbar Khan.
The Chief Minister declared at the time that power shortages in the area, particularly in District Skardu, will stop once this project is completed. In the meantime, Chief Minister Haji Gulber Khan presided over the Gilgit Baltistan cabinet meeting in Skardu.
