After three days of assessment, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad used the Postgraduate Programme Review (PGPR) and Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE) approaches to end its visit to the University of Sindh Jamshoro.
A spokeswoman for the institution said here on Friday that the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) HEC Islamabad conducted a thorough evaluation of several administrative and teaching departments and expressed satisfaction with the results.

The evaluation was conducted by a seven-person team that included Asif Saeed Haider, Humaura Quddus, Munawar Ali, Dr. Abdul Basit Muja-hid, Humzab Afzal Kayani, Head of School Computing at FAST-National University Karachi, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Turbat Prof. Dr. Gul Hassan, and Shahzad Afzal Kayani.
During the evaluation team’s visit, Dr. Muhammad Qasim Nizamani, Dr. Gulsher Leghari, Director QEC Altaf Nizamani, Director Graduate Studies Prof. Dr. Saima Qayoom Memon, and Registrar Dr. Mushtaque Ali Jariko were also in attendance.
The evaluation team’s goal was to evaluate the performance of the university’s departments and institutes in order to bring about significant and constructive changes to university governance.
The team visited seventy teaching departments in all, including the Faculty of Education, the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC), the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), the Central Library, and the Institute of English Language and Literature (IELL), among other important departments and institutes.
On the last day of their assessment, the team led by Prof. Dr. Gul Hassan, Vice Chancellor of the University of Turbat, paid a visit to Prof. Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sindh.
After deliberating on the observations made during the assessment, the team complimented the incumbent, Dr. Kalhoro, for efficiently running lessons in all departments.
The team appreciated the general quality of instructional content, calling it exquisite, and emphasized the enthusiastic engagement of teachers in their jobs.
