Due to the chilly weather, the government of KP announces Extension of Winter Holidays in Schools in the summer zone would be extended till January 13.
The summer zone includes Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, and Kohat, as well as several neighboring districts.
According to a letter released by the KP Elementary and Secondary Education Department, the summer zone’s middle, high, and higher secondary schools will begin courses on January 8, 2024, although at different times. To escape the early chill, schools will open at 9:30 a.m. rather than 8:00 a.m.

The winter zone, which includes the province’s snowy and frigid mountainous regions such as Chitral, Swat, Upper Dir, Kohistan, Battagram, Hazara region, and Malakand, will operate on the same timetable as previously. After a two-month hiatus, the winter zone schools will resume on February 1, 20243.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government has still to determine whether or not to prolong winter breaks for its schools.
The Punjab School Education Department is anticipated to provide recommendations to the chief minister, who would make the ultimate decision.
According to sources, the department has recommended four possibilities, ranging from extending all classes’ vacations until January 15, to summoning only the ninth and tenth graders to school and allowing the remainder of the pupils extra time off.
The matriculation and intermediate classes’ yearly examinations are set for March 2024.
