KU and UKAHA Houston Sign MoU to Grant Scholarships in Eight Fields

The academic of Karachi and the University of Karachi Alumni Association in Houston, Texas, USA, signed a memorandum of agreement to provide need-based financial support to students in eight academic departments.

According to the MoU, students from the departments of international relations, economics, psychology, mass communication, chemistry, statistics, mathematics, and computer science would be eligible for need-based scholarships for two semesters.

The UKAHA Houston US contributed Rs 500, 000/- yearly under the MoU signed in 2019, and has now upped the amount to Rs 1, 000, 000/- per year to keep up with the sharp rise in living expenditures and general inflation.

The UKAHA Houston US called the financial support program the University of Karachi Alumni Association, Houston Texas, USAAcademic Achievement Award. We granted one million rupees to the eight departments’ selected applicants.

The MoU materials were signed at the VC Secretariat by KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi and UKAHA Houston US President Muhammad Azam Akhtar.

On this occasion, U VC Professor Dr Khalid Iraqi praised the UKAHA’s contribution and stated that alumni returning to support students demonstrates their devotion and loyalty to their old university.

Our students have great potential, which is why they are building a name for themselves worldwide.

They never forget their university and are always willing to assist students from all departments.

In the meantime, President of the University of Karachi Alumni Association in Houston, Texas, USA Houston, Texas Muhammad Azam Akhtar stated that they were fortunate to study at the University of Karachi and that their lecturers were essential in their achievement.

He stated that the UKAHA will continue to assist the younsters.
