The University of Karachi released the results of the BA Part-II and both external portions of the annual examination for 2022 on Wednesday.
According to the published gazette, 2, 845 candidates were enrolled, of whom 2, 582 students took the exam.
Of these, 168 candidates were deemed to have passed with the first division, 1, 086 with the second division, and three with the third division. The pass percentage as a whole was 48.72%.
However, in an effort to increase academic-industry collaboration at the KU Vice Chancellor Secretariat, the Department of Geology at the University of Karachi signed two separate memorandums of understanding with Pakistan Petroleum Limited and the Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company.

The Memorandum of Understanding signed with the SECMC states that the KU and Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company have decided to start an academic exchange program to foster cooperation for research in educational activities.
As part of this program, the KU will send a teacher or teachers to the SECMC to participate in advanced, state-of-the-art field training.
SECMC would send experts to the University of Karachi in the meantime to look for answers to challenging issues.
Additionally, both sides committed to cooperatively setting up workshops and training programs for the ongoing professional development of academic staff, industry professionals, and students.
Professionals from the SECMC and the University of Karachi will share knowledge and pertinent research materials.
Coal samples, chemical analyses of the samples, and any other pertinent data may be included in the integrated research material.
Additionally, they have decided to collaborate on publications, seminars, and conferences to share research findings.
Furthermore, SECMC and the University of Karachi will work together to organize conferences on topics of shared interest and concern in order to improve the professional capacities of both parties.
On behalf of the University of Karachi and the Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company, respectively, the MoU documents were signed by KU VC Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi and General Manager Operations SECMC Faisal Shafiq.
