Monitoring and Evaluation of Taken-Over Madaris and Schools in Punjab Through Field Formation

The Directorate of Religious Education, Punjab, has issued a directive to enhance the monitoring and evaluation of 208 taken-over madaris (religious schools) and educational institutions across Punjab (excluding Attock and Bhakkar). The decision aligns with the approval of the Madaris & Schools Management Board in its 17th meeting held on November 8, 2023, and subsequent approval by the School Education Department on January 2, 2025.

Key Details of the Directive

Purpose:
To ensure effective monitoring and evaluation of the taken-over institutions through active involvement of field formations under the School Education Department.

Decisions Made:

1. Formation of Field Teams:
   • Acting Chief Executive Officers (CEAs), District Education Officers, Deputy District Education Officers, and Assistant Education Officers are directed to visit their assigned institutions.
   • The visits aim to enhance the operational effectiveness of these taken-over institutions.
2. Board Oversight:
   • The Board will oversee the monitoring reports and evaluations in its regular meetings.

Responsibilities and Actions

The directive outlines the following actions for concerned authorities:

• Compliance with the Madaris & Schools Management Board’s decisions.
• Active participation of field officers in the monitoring process.
• Submission of findings and progress reports to the Board.

1. All Deputy Commissioners/Administrators (DEAs) of Punjab.
2. PSO to Secretary, School Education Department, Lahore.
3. Special Secretary, School Education Department, Lahore.

5. Additional Secretary (FATF/CT), Home Department, Lahore.
6. Section Officer (ME-I), School Education Department, Lahore.
7. Administrators of the taken-over institutions in Punjab.
