Sybil Sohail followed in her elder sister’s footsteps by pursuing a powerlifting career, and she represented the country admirably in the Asian Powerlifting Championship in Malaysia.
Pakistani powerlifter Sybil Sohail, who was trained and encouraged by her older sister Twinkle, won a silver medal in the 47-kg division for squats, bench presses, deadlifts, and other events.

The girl in green and white made history during the contest in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, when female weightlifters from different Asian countries demonstrated amazing strength.
The Sohail sisters, who are members of the country’s minority Christian population, made history when they became the first four sisters to compete in the Asian Powerlifting and Bench Press Championship.
Sybil, along with her older siblings Twinkle Sohail, Maryam Sohail, and Veronica Sohail, had previously competed in various categories of the Asian Bench and Press Championship.
The South Asian powerlifting girls previously won gold in the Asian Bench Press Championship in Oman in 2015.
The girls endured criticism for their desire to become weightlifters in a traditional environment, but they persevered and fulfilled their goals.
