Here is great news for the Doctors of Pakistan. The World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) has granted the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC) accreditation, marking a significant milestone.
The Council said that the “recognition underscores PM&DC’s commitment to ensuring the highest standards of medical education within Pakistan.”
As per details, the outstanding achievement of achieving WFME recognized status is granted for ten years. The most recent change has made it possible for all Pakistani students to apply for the USMLE and ECFMG exams.
It will help Pakistani medical graduates to continue their training and professional practices in European countries including the US, Canada, and New Zealand. They can make their future bright by getting a better experience and can enhance their skills by using advanced methodologies.

This accomplishment guarantees that our medical graduates are prepared to satisfy worldwide healthcare standards and creates new opportunities for collaboration, according to PM&DC President Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj.
He further said that Pakistan’s medical education meets international standards thanks to the WFME’s approval. He claims that it will provide Pakistani students the freedom to pursue their careers wherever they want to in any part of the world.
The PM&DC President sent gratitude to all the teams that contributed hard to this accomplishment, including the International Consultant on Collaboration and Recognition, Mr. Farzand Ali, the PM&DC Council members, the Surgeon General, the Minister of Health, and the NHS&C Secretary of Health.
Furthermore, Dr. Rizwan congratulated PM&DC’s whole personnel for their unwavering work toward obtaining this accreditation.
