All Punjab educational boards now have taken a significant step with an important motive of bringing up change in the field of education.
The main purpose is to improve the English skills of students and to enhance their educational standards. It will help make the base of students which will lead to improved communication in English and make them more confident.
All educational boards across the province will take matriculation exams in English whether these are for science groups or arts. This will be taken into action in 2025 according to the details.
According to the changes in policy, questions written in Urdu in examinations will be removed to ensure a uniform language medium in all subjects.
Furthermore, all optional subjects of FA exams will also be conducted in English and it will start from 2026.
Although this policy has not yet received formal approval, educational authorities are optimistic that it will be adopted at the next Punjab Boards Committee Chairmen (PBCC) meeting.

However, Rana Liaqat Ali, the general secretary of the Punjab Teachers Union, expressed his concerns about possible difficulties brought on by the changes in language.
To facilitate a seamless transition, he also emphasized the significance of preparing teachers and reducing the likelihood that students may fail because of language barriers.
But it is expected that the policy will get its formal approval from the authorities soon and action will be taken into it.
