Under the PWWF, the Punjab Workers Welfare Board (PWWB) offers complete scholarships to laborers and miners and/or their children for all degree programs at COMSATS Lahore and Islamabad Campuses.
COMSATS has set aside a 30% quota for workers and/or their children in all single-degree programs. The application deadline for COMSATS worker welfare fund scholarships for the Islamabad Campus is December 20, 2023, while the deadline for the Lahore Campus is December 29.
There are seats available for Labour Quota admission on Scholarships at Islamabad, Lahore, Attock, Wah, Sahiwal, and Vehari Campus.
The Labour Department of the Government of Punjab is in charge of paying all PWWB Quota students’ Tuition charges, Hostel fees, and Transportation costs are all covered by the PWWB Scholarship.
Who Can Apply For PWWB COMSATS Scholarship
The respective candidates must meet the following requirements:
- A person is qualified to work for the labor department if he meets the criteria of a worker as established in the Industrial Relations Act of 2010.
- The employee must have a valid social security card.
- The worker must have at least one year of experience working in a factory registered under the Factories Act 1934 or the Mines Act 1923.
- A factory is defined as an organization that meets the criteria of a factory as described in the Workers’ Welfare Fund Ordinance 1971 or the Companies’ Profit Workers Participation Act 1968.
- Children of deceased/disabled workers are also eligible to apply for this scholarship if the worker/miner died/was disabled while on duty, was registered with the EOBI/Social Security, and his widow/legal heir received a Death Grant from the Punjab Workers’ Welfare Board or receives a pension from the EOBI/Social Security.
- The worker or miner requesting entry, or his kid, shall not have been involved in any illicit action or criminal proceedings.
PWWB COMSATS Scholarship 2023 Award
- Candidates apply for this scholarship when they are admitted to any of the Single Degree Programs. At the time of admission, applicants must provide the following documents with their admission application form:
- CNIC of a worker/miner.
- Social Security/Old Age Benefit Card for workers/miners.
- Worker/miner’s Factory Card/Employee Card with his/her classification.
- Appointment Letter for a Worker/Miner.
- The Factory Registration Certificate was issued under the Factories Act 1934 or the Mines Act 1923.
- NADRA issued the prospective student’s CNIC/Family Registration Certificate.
- A worker’s or miner’s service certificate, as well as a certificate of excellent moral behavior.
- A Rs. 20 affidavit must be signed by the nominee. Stamp Paper declaring that if he/she discontinues his/her studies, he/she will reimburse the Labour Department for all educational expenses.
- Proof of obtaining a Death Grant/ Disability Pension must be presented in the event of a deceased/disabled worker/miner.
Scholarship Extension
This grant is available for a maximum of eight semesters, or the length of the student’s corresponding degree program. If a student repeats a course or semester, the dues must be deposited following CIIT laws and regulations.
