According to Dr. Nadeem Jan, the acting federal minister for health, Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar has united all the health sectors under one roof, and the government would supply the resources required for the MDCAT exam to be administered in an orderly and transparent manner.
According to a press release, he will be the primary guest at the opening ceremony of KMU’s Biosafety and Bio Risk Management (BRM) Training Lab and the awarding of certificates of scholarship to worthy students.
Deans and heads of several KMU faculties and departments were in participation, as well as KMU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ziaul Haq, Director General Health Shaukat Ali, Kouassi Koman, Deputy Health Coordinator ICRC from Ivory Coast, and KMU Registrar Inamullah Khan Wazir.

According to Dr. Nadeem Jan, the Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar has successfully integrated all facets of the health system, and the outcomes of its medical research and education have positively impacted the province’s healthcare system.
The idea of medical education was originally restricted to MBBS and BDS programs, but under KMU, students are now receiving training and education in dozens of cutting-edge subjects at all levels, from BS to PhD, which is exactly what the world needs.
According to him, there is a need, but it also gives our students access to excellent information and research opportunities in several health-related sectors within their own region.
Speaking as the keynote speaker at the opening of the Biosafety and Bio Risk Management (BRM) training lab at KMU and the awarding of scholarships to deserving students here on Sunday, the minister promised that all facilities would be provided, healthcare providers in Pakistan would be protected, and the proposed ICRC act’s policy for preventing violence and property damage would be strictly enforced.
At this event, deans and leaders of several KMU faculties and departments were in attendance, as well as VC KMU Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haq, Director General Health Shaukat Ali, Kouassi Koman, Deputy Health Coordinator ICRC from Ivory Coast, and Registrar KMU Inamullah Khan Wazir.
The minister praised the KMU-prepared recommended plan for the orderly and transparent administration of the MDCAT exam, which is scheduled for November 26.
He stressed the need for strict arrangements for which the federal and local governments would prioritize providing administrative, technological, and security resources.
KMU VC During the federal minister’s briefing, Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haq stated that the MDCAT’s clean and transparent conduct had been acknowledged as a challenge, that all preparations for a successful outcome had been finished, and that concerned ministries had been working together as a team.
According to the VC, KMU provided an indelible service to society during the Covid-19 pandemic through PHRL, doing 1.8 million Covid PCR tests.
In addition to Corona testing, he noted the KMU offers the health departments testing services for other significant disorders including MPox and CCHF, among others.
He continued by saying that steady support from the province government was necessary for the Public Health Reference Laboratory.
More than seventy-five skilled lab workers are employed under contract at KMU-PHRL; he stated, “They should be regularized because the lab performs more than forty tests for serious and communicable diseases, which is noteworthy for a government facility.”
The minister awarded scholarship certificates to deserving medical students after the event. The chief guest also planted a seedling on KMU’s lawn and opened the Biosafety & BRM Training Lab earlier.
