On World Children’s Day, the University of Management and Technology (UMT) hosted a pre-launch ceremony for the Pakistani film “Gunjal,” which addresses child labor.
UMT School of Media and Communication, in association with Catwalk, the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau, and the SSDO, coordinated this event.
DG UMT Professor Abid Sherwani, Dr. Anjum Zia, Dean of the School of Media and Communication Studies, and well-known artists from Pakistan.

The cast of Gunjal attended the ceremony, together with Ahmed Ali Akbar, Resham, Syed Kausar Abbas, Frieha Altaf, a fashion artist, Sarah Ahmed, the chairperson of the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau, members of the media, and the police department.
In his speech, Dr. Anjum Zia welcomed everyone to UMT and stressed the importance of taking action to address the significant problems of child labor and child trafficking.
He said, “I believe this film will play a significant role in tackling serious issues like child labor and trafficking in children in our society.” Gunjal was developed with child labor in mind.
According to Sarah Ahmed, the chairperson of the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau, ending child work will guarantee that children receive an education. World Children’s Day is honored in this way.
Actors Ahmed Ali Akbar and actress Resham told the attendees that the film offers action and thrill together with serious themes like child labor. The purpose of this film is to increase public awareness of issues like child trafficking.
