The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and the Department of Wildlife, Government of Punjab, collaborated to host a two-day training program named “Art of Taxidermy” on Thursday at the University of Sargodha (UoS) Department of Zoology.
With the goal of bridging the conventional and creative divide, the program gave participants a thorough understanding of taxidermy.
The workshop was hosted by the Vice Chancellor of the University of the Sunyanga (Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas) and Associate Professor Shabana Naz of GCU Faisalabad, who respectively served as the chief guest and keynote speaker.

The event was handled by Prof. Dr. Khalid Mukhtar, Dr. Aima Iram, Dr. Naunain Mehmood, and Dr. Iram Inayat.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Sargodha (UoS) spoke on the occasion and stressed the value of these kinds of multidisciplinary projects that link knowledge with real-world application.
According to him, as the workshop develops, it will reveal the intricacies of the industrial growth of taxidermy and throw insight into the complex mechanisms that support the preservation of biodiversity in a world that is changing quickly.
Prominent keynote speakers at the workshop included Dr. Misbah Sarwar, Deputy Director, of and Wild Life Department, and Mr. Shahid Iqbal, an expert from the World Wide Fund for Nature.
They provided insightful commentary on a range of topics related to taxidermy, such as specimen preparation, skinning, wiring, mounting, fleshing, and biological methods for preserving various domestic and wild animals and birds.
The ending ceremony was presided over by Prof. Dr. Ghulam Yasin, Pro Vice-Chancellor. He gave each participant a certificate. He praised the Department of Zoology for its excellent work in developing students and giving them useful practical experience.
