Due to the severity of the severe weather in Punjab, the School Education Department is considering an additional week of winter vacation in Punjab, according to a local media station.
It should be recalled that winter breaks began in Punjabi schools on December 18 and will last till the beginning of next year.
However, there have been speculations in recent days that the province administration may adjust the schedule of school reopening owing to the cold weather.
The Punjab administration has yet to make a decision. If the cold weather continues, provincial officials may be obliged to reconsider the school reopening timeline.

Furthermore, parents have encouraged officials to prolong the winter holidays for another week. They claimed that several of the province’s private schools had already modified their schedules.
They have requested that the Christmas vacation be extended until January 7. In response to parents’ requests, the Education Department announced that any decision to extend the vacations will be made after consultation with the government.
