School Improvement Program Set for Gilgit-Baltistan

The “School Improvement Programme,” an effort to improve education and communities in Northern Pakistan, is being carried out in 436 government schools in underserved Gilgit Baltistan and Chitral.

The program, which was started in collaboration with the Agha Khan Foundation and local governments, was designed to support teacher transformation, strengthen school leadership, increase family involvement, and improve government capacity.

According to Muhammad Irshad, headmaster of the Higher Secondary School Thalay Valley in the Ghanche District of Gilgit Baltistan, the program’s real goal was to raise educational standards to increase student learning, PTV said.

He claimed that workshops were being organized to increase community involvement and that teachers received training. Our students are now performing better on board exams as a result.

According to Model School Thalay head Muhammad Nawaz, we were given access to a little library with parent education programs scheduled in it, and as a result, parents are now more active in the education of their children.

He added that as an additional teaching tool, the school has an LCD screen placed along with science experiment devices for the pupils’ use.

Parent Ijaz Hussain stated, “The program has made our children more eager to learn, and we as parents are now more invested in our children’s education. The improvement in our children’s performance makes us very happy.

Another parent, Naila Batool, stated that more parents are becoming involved in their children’s schooling. “Not only are we sending our children to school more frequently, but their grades have also significantly improved,” she said.

With the help of the School Improvement Program, which has so far helped 1900 teachers and over 40,000 pupils, the educational system in underprivileged areas has been strengthened. He added that as an additional teaching tool, the school has an LCD screen placed along with science experiment devices for the pupils’ use.
