The National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) recently increased the rates for renewing smart ID cards, marking a watershed point in the advancement of identification services.
The NADRA smart card, which has an implanted chip for secure data logging, not only protects personal identification but also vital records by adding an extra layer of biometric verification.

NADRA has launched the ‘Pak ID Mobile App’ to simplify and expedite the identity card application process.
This unique program allows users to process identity card applications from the convenience of their mobile devices, removing the need for actual visits to NADRA offices.
Users may easily apply for CNICs and Family Registration Certificates via the ‘Pak ID Mobile App,’ skipping long lines and waiting hours.
The current edition of the software has a built-in document recognition system and contactless biometric verification, allowing users to submit documents, capture photos and fingerprints, and add digital signatures all from their cellphones.
