Due to the province’s chilly weather, Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has announced to extension of winter holidays in Punjab by 1 week for students ranging from kindergarten to grade 1.
Following the deaths of scores of youngsters across the province as a result of pneumonia, Naqvi ordered that all tests scheduled for this month be postponed.
Schools in Punjab will stay closed for another week, according to the Chief Minister. During an emergency meeting today at Children’s Hospital in Lahore, Mohsin Naqvi claimed that eight out of every ten children had been diagnosed with pneumonia.

Furthermore, he emphasized that a substantial proportion of the deceased children are newborns under the age of six months.
It should be recalled that Naqvi declared earlier this week that the winter breaks for schools and colleges in Punjab will not be extended any longer.

Punjab Chief Minister Naqvi claimed the administration decided to postpone examinations after scores of youngsters died from pneumonia.
Previously, the Punjab government announced a shift in school start times, with courses beginning at 9:30 a.m. from January 10 to January 22.
