The Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) is seeking applicants for the Indigenous PhD Scholarship (IPHD).
This scholarship is accessible to pursue PhD studies at any public or private institution licensed by the Government of Punjab, encompassing a wide range of fields like as science and technology, social sciences, arts and humanities, business and management sciences, and so on.
For three years, Punjab HEC would grant a monthly stipend of PKR 100,000 for chosen PhD students in science and technology and PKR 50,000 for arts and social sciences. Applications must be submitted online by January 28, 2023.

Who Can Apply for Punjab HEC Indigenous PhD Scholarship
The qualifying applicant must: be a resident of any district in Punjab,
- I have an MS/MPhil degree from a foreign/local university and have never had a third division or a grade D throughout my academic career.
- Candidates seeking Ph.D. scholarships must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0 in the semester system), 3.75 (out of 5), or first division (in the yearly system) in their MS/MPhil/Equivalent degree.
- If employed, obtain NOC and be granted study leave from the parent department. On the closing date, you must be at least 40 years old (45 years old for females).
- The scholarship is only for three years, and the awardee is not allowed to work outside of academia during that time.
- Within 9 months of receiving the scholarship letter, the awardee must seek admission to any public or private university in Punjab.
- Candidates in the Science and Technology category must submit a financial support letter from the industry indicating monthly financial assistance of at least Rs. 10,000.
Applicants Ineligible:
- Candidates who are already receiving another HEC/Government PhD scholarship are ineligible to apply.
- Candidates who are currently pursuing a Ph.D.
Financial Coverage
PHEC would give money for 36 months in the following amounts:
- 50,000/- per month (all included) for Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities, Business & Management Sciences, and so on; and Rs. 100,000/- per month (all inclusive) for Sciences & Technology.
How to Apply for Punjab HEC Indigenous PhD Scholarship
Apply online at the PHEC website until January 28, 2024, and a physical copy of the application, complete in all respects, must be received at the address shown below on or before January 31, 2024, at 5:00 PM, via registered mail only.
