Here is breaking news about Virat Kohli who is an international cricket player. According to Indian media, top batsman Virat Kohli might not be included in the Indian team for the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup, which begins on June 1 in the USA and the West Indies.
After England humiliated India in the 2022 T20 World Cup Semi-Final, Kohli missed more than a year of T20 International cricket.
Earlier this year, in a three-match T20I series India played at home against Afghanistan, the right-hand batter returned to the white-ball format. During the series, the performance of Kohli was below satisfaction because he only scored 0 and 29 runs in two innings.
BCCI secretary, Jay Shah has confirmed that Rohit Sharma who is an old colleague of Kohli will head the national team at the mega event.
Despite winning Player of the Tournament in both the 2014 and 2016 T20 World Cups, the renowned hitter may be benched since the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee is leaning toward other choices for the shorter format.
