Government Announces Monthly Stipend of Rs10 Thousands for Transgender Students

The government has announced a monthly stipend of Rs. 10 thousands for transgender students enrolled in government schools. The Lahore Education Authority has set a monthly stipend of 10,000 rupees for transgender students.

Only transgender students enrolled in the school will get a monthly stipend of 10,000 rupees, a transportation allowance of 5,000 rupees, and a transportation allowance of 5,000 rupees. To get the stipend, students must maintain an 80% attendance rate.

Lahore DEO Secondary Education near Iqbal claims that a series of transgender lessons at Government Girls High School Barkat Market has been running for a year, with classes offered on the first three days of the week. Expert teachers supervise the education of transgender students.

Transgender receive free schooling, textbooks, and food in addition to the stipend. Scholarship funds are available immediately upon transsexual registration.

The DEO also stated that if the number of registered students grows, the number of schools would be raised.
