In reaction to the recent drop in temperature, the School Education Department (SED) has modified the operation hours for all schools and institutions in both urban and rural areas of Punjab.
According to the SED’s announcement, the amended timings will be in place until January 31, 2024.
Beginning at 09:30 a.m., schools throughout Punjab will follow this modified schedule till the end of January. However, effective February 1st, schools will resume their usual schedules.
It is vital to emphasize that nursery and prep pupils will not have their winter holidays extended any further. The previously extended vacation time, which runs until January 19, remains intact, according to the notification sent on January 10.
In addition, the letter states that assemblies and all outside activities in schools would be suspended until January 31, 2024, to ensure safety.
This adjustment in school timings is expected to be reflected in different parts of the country, taking into account the expected further decrease in temperature.
