For the next academic year, the medical schools and universities in Sindh are thinking about raising tuition by a significant 50%.
Tuesday’s meeting, which was presided over by Dr. Saad Niaz, the acting health minister, saw the introduction of the fee hike plan.
Referencing the persistent inflationary pressures that drive up the cost of education, a number of medical institution representatives defended the tuition rise.
After taking note of their worries, the caretaker minister gave the pertinent authorities instructions to compile a summary of the suggested fee modifications and submit it to the province cabinet for approval.

Dr. Niaz stressed in his remarks the importance of preserving the financial stability of educational institutions while ensuring student accessibility.
The decision is anticipated to have an effect on the tuition and application costs for medical schools throughout the province. In addition to discussing the expected cost increase, the session covered getting ready for the next Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT).
The idea of harsh punishments was put out to stop exam fraud. A proposal for a one-year suspension of students found cheating is expected to be made to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
