SAU Distributes Laptops through Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme

Under the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme, laptop distribution to qualified Sindh Agricultural University students began on Tuesday.

A university spokesman said that in the first phase, laptops were given out by the varsity management to 40 out of 1025 eligible students on Tuesday in a straightforward but striking ceremony.

Additionally, laptops were given out to students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate degree programs by Vice Chancellor Dr. Fateh Marri and Sindh Information Secretary Nadeem Rehman Memon.

In his speech to the attendees, Vice Chancellor Dr. Fateh Marri noted that in the industrialized world, proficiency with information technology is a must for passing any competitive exam and emphasized the indispensability of technology in agriculture.

Agricultural university students should get ready to compete in the modern era since precision agriculture, climate-smart agriculture, geographic information systems, digital marketing, drone technology, and information technology all play crucial roles in development.

“We are now going through an era of digitalization and competition, and the whole world is a market for our graduates, therefore, they make themselves so capable,” stated Nadeem-ur-Rahman Memon, the information secretary for Sindh.

In order to be able to solve problems at their fingertips in the future, he urged the students to concentrate on their academics through research, experimentation, and innovations.

Javed Ali Memon, the director of the Higher Education Commission’s Regional Training Center, stated that the organization is totally dedicated to providing young people with access to contemporary technology and that several initiatives are being implemented in this respect to keep them involved in sports and academic study.

0.1 million students in the province are receiving laptops as part of the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme’s initial phase, according to Manzoor Ali Rind, Regional Director for Sindh.

He disclosed in 2013 that PMYLS has donated over 0.5 million laptops in two phases. Farkhanda Warsi, Dr. Barkatullah Qureshi, the focal person of SAU’s laptop program, and Dr. Aijaz Ali Khoharo, the dean of the faculty of social sciences, all spoke at the event. Dr. Sultan Ahmed Maitlo, Principal of ZA Bhutto Agricultural College Dokri, Registrar Ghulam Mohiuddin Qureshi, and Dr. Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar were among those present during the occasion.
