Rawalpindi Declares Holiday for All Educational Institutions, Including Schools, Colleges, and Universities

Educational Institutions will remain closed due to the Chehlum Procession

In an official declaration, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner in Rawalpindi has announced that all educational institutions within the limit of Tehsil Rawalpindi, without the Cantonment regions, will be closed tomorrow, 7 September 2023 (Thursday).

This decision was made due to the Chehlum Procession which is on Thursday.

The decision was made to maintain security, and law and order situation during the Chehlum Procession. Government and private colleges, universities, and schools will have to follow this notification.

Moreover, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner has mentioned the Director of Information to guarantee widespread communication of this latest information through electronic, print media, and whatever available source.

The private schools association in Rawalpindi has been instructed to follow this notification.

This sudden step intends to guarantee the safety and security of students and faculty members during the Chehlum Procession.

Normal educational activities are supposed to continue on the next day, 8 September 2023.
