IHC SUSPENDED THE APPOINTMENT NOTICE OF SHAISTA SOHAIL AS THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE HIGHER EDUCATION COMMISSION (HEC)

The latest development made by the Islamabad High Court in the case of the Higher Education Commission on Thursday is that IHC suspended the notice of the appointment of Shaista Sohail as the executive director of the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

In this case, IHC’s Justice Babar Sattar heard evidence against the appointment of Shaista Sohail as the HEC executive director.

During the proceedings, the judge commented that the notice dated July 31 concerning Shaista Sohai’s appointment be suspended, and ordered that one more official be delegated to proceed with the work until the following hearing.

The high court requested HEC to present an explanation by September 14 concerning the appointment of the executive director.

The petitioner for the case has claimed that Ms. Sohail’s appointment as the chief was not as per the HEC regulations.
