With UNICEF’s financial and technical assistance, the Directorate of Elementary and Secondary Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will set up Early Childhood Education Classrooms in a predetermined number of government primary schools (for both boys and girls) throughout all districts.
In this regard, early childhood education classrooms are to be established in the chosen schools by District Education Officers of all districts, male and female, including Bannu, Bajaur, Battagram, Dir Upper, Dera Ismail Khan, Hangu, Kohat, Kohistan Lower, Kohat, Khyber, Kurram, Lakki Marwat, Mansehra, Mohmand, North Waziristan, Orakzai, Peshawar, Shangla, Swat, Swabi, South Waziristan, Tank, and Torghar.
By using this method, the Directorate of Elementary and Secondary Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will set up early childhood education classrooms at the specified government primary schools (for both boys and girls) across all relevant districts.
In a letter released by the P&D Department in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it was disclosed that the list of the chosen schools had already been finalized and shared with this DEO, both male and female.
It should be noted that one ECE Room will be set up in each of the chosen government primary schools’ current classrooms. It was decided that separate classrooms for ECE classes would not be built.
The Hashoo Foundation has been given responsibility for the establishment of ECE Rooms. The same schools that have previously been chosen will be gathered by Hashoo Foundation representatives prior to work commencing.
A formal request has been addressed to the head teachers of the affected schools asking them to provide their full cooperation to the Hashoo Foundation team in this respect.
