Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chairman of the NUST Board of Governors, honored the occasion as Chief Guest at the first-ever “Master Convocation Ceremony” and awarded medals to recipients of excellence.
Convocation week was spent by students receiving their degrees—PhD, Master’s, and Bachelor’s. Over 3,500 alumni from all NUST Schools are receiving degrees in the seven key subjects at the main campus.
COAS General Syed Asim Munir gave heartfelt congrats to the graduates, their parents, and the professors during his speech. He praised NUST for creating a teaching and learning environment that fosters creative minds and prepares them to serve the country.
The head of the army emphasized that education is a must, not an option. He emphasized that the start of a new chapter in students’ life signifies a big shift that calls for more responsibility.
He emphasized that their choices and personalities should reflect this greater responsibility as they travel forward.
COAS Munir stated that it is now their responsibility to identify and evaluate the problems the nation faces and use their creative thinking to come up with solutions.
Rector NUST welcomed COAS Munir when he first arrived at NUST.
