Pakistani nationals’ passports may be issued or renewed by the affiliated Directorate General of Immigration & Passports, a department of the Ministry of Interior.
The applicant may still apply under the renewal category (both domestically and internationally) to obtain a machine-readable passport with an extended validity of five or ten years if the passport has not yet expired but has fewer than twelve months remaining on it.
To renew their travel documents, applicants in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates should go to the closest embassy or consulate.

The Directorate has also made it possible for citizens living domestically and abroad to apply online for passport renewals. They just need to visit https://onlinemrp.dgip.gov.pk/e-passport/ official website to apply for renewal.
Documents Required:
When requesting a renewal of a machine-readable passport online, the following documents are needed:
- The applicant’s current passport expires within the next twelve (12) months
- Color-scanned copies of both sides of a valid CNIC, NICOP, Smart CNIC, or NICOP
- Color-scanned copies of the first two pages of passport and one additional page at random selected by the algorithm.
- A color scanned copy of a valid passport, visa, aqua, residence permit, asylum card, or other nationality
Passport Renewal Fee Update October 2023
MRP fee for 5 years validity:
- The fee for a normal (36 pages) passport is 3,000 +2500 (service charges) = 5,500 /- (excluding tax)
- The fee for an urgent (36 pages) passport is 5,000 +2500 (service charges) = 7,500 /- (excluding tax)
- The fee for a normal (72 pages) passport is 5,500 +2500 (service charges) = 8,000 /- (excluding tax)
- The fee for an urgent (72 pages) passport is 9,000 +2500 (service charges) = 11,500 /- (excluding tax)
MRP fee for 10 years validity:
- The fee for a normal (36 pages) passport is 4,500 +2500 (service charges) = 7000 /- (excluding tax)
- The fee for an urgent (36 pages) passport is 7,500 +2500 (service charges) = 10,000 /- (excluding tax)
- The fee for a normal (72 pages) passport is 8,250 +2500 (service charges) = 10,750 /- (excluding tax)
- The fee for an urgent (72 pages) passport is 13,500 +2500 (service charges) = 16,000 /- (excluding tax)
