In a recent development, Pakistan has seen a considerable increase in solar panel prices, raising consumer concerns. The consumption of solar panels increases in the electricity rates.
The rise, ranging from 75,000 to 300,000 Pakistani rupees, is due to increased demand ahead of the summer season.
Latest Solar Panel Prices in Pakistan:
The impact of this surge is visible across a variety of solar panel systems. For example, a 7-kilowatt system that was formerly priced at 850,000 rupees has suddenly risen beyond 920,000 rupees. Similarly, the cost of a 10-kilowatt system has increased from 11 lakh to 12.5 lakh rupees. Larger systems, such as 12-kilowatt and 15-kilowatt installations, have seen rises, reaching 16 lakh and 18 lakh rupees, respectively.
The primary reason for these price increases is grid-connected solar panel installations, particularly hybrid setups that include additional costs for energy storage batteries. This has had a cascading effect on customers involved in the federal government’s net metering experiment.
