Visa-Free Entry in UK Announced for Multiple Islamic Countries

The United Kingdom has announced substantial modifications to its visa requirements, intending to make it simpler for people of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Jordan to enter the country.

According to a statement issued by the British government, these nations will convert to an electronic travel permit system by 2024, and they will be granted visa-free entry in UK.

Residents of Gulf nations such as Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the Emirates, and Jordan will no longer need visit visas to enter the UK under this arrangement.

The transition to an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system is expected to streamline the admission procedure by eliminating the need for a visit visa.

According to the official release, the visa exemption would be implemented after February 22, 2024. Tourists of all ages will be needed to apply electronically for a £10 travel permit, which will then be provided for their travel reasons, under this new system.

This strategic reform in visa restrictions intends to streamline entrance procedures, making travel to the United Kingdom easier and more accessible for people of these countries.
