The Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB) of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) has made the decision to hold both supervisors and evaluators responsible in case if mistakes are found in a thesis submitted by postgraduate students.
This decision was made at the 194th meeting of the UHS Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB), held on Thursday and chaired by vice-chancellor Prof. Ahsan Waheed Rathore.

The main aim of this step taken by research was to inspire the research quality so that it can meet global standards—the Ph.D., M.Phil. Master’s degree programs that require student theses to be evaluated by two experts (scrutiny members) would be most impacted by this ruling.
The UHS will notify the student’s supervisor if the evaluators find any substantial faults. The supervisor will next have to give a written explanation for why these errors existed in the thesis.
This also applies if one of the two evaluators finds a major flaw while the other sees minor issues.
Then the university will call both the evaluators, along with the relevant student and supervisor, to appear before a committee to analyze the subject matter and make a decision, a UHS official said.
According to the UHS VC, the decision demonstrates the university’s dedication to boosting research quality and ensuring postgraduate students reach the high standards expected of their theses.
He thought it was an important step in bringing the university’s research procedures up to line with the highest worldwide standards.
The UHS board also took into account 67 student-submitted reports on theses. 33 students’ synopses were taken into consideration for enrollment in various postgraduate programs during the meeting.
